The results of the traditional contest “Best Exporter of the Year”, organized by the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, were announced on May 21 in Minsk. According to BelCCI, the contest nominees included both small and medium-sized enterprises and flagships of Belarusian industry. Among the main selection criteria are total exports, export growth, the share of export products in total production, export geography and some others. As a result, OJSC Svetlogorsk Central Control Commission was recognized as the winner of the competition in the nomination “Pulp and Paper Industry”.
In 2019, Svetlogorsk Central Control Commission exported products worth 64.5 million US dollars. For comparison, in 2018 this indicator was equal to 26.5 million US dollars. Thus, the growth rate of production of exported products amounted to 243.1%. The increase in total exports is due to the implementation of the project for the production of bleached sulphate pulp, the share of which in the total volume of products sold is 76.9%. So, in 2019, 115.7 thousand tons of pulp were shipped for export in the amount of 53.4 million US dollars. More than 80% of production today is shipped to non-CIS countries, export markets are China, the Russian Federation, Turkey, Ukraine, Germany, Romania, Uzbekistan, Slovenia, Poland, Serbia, Pakistan, Italy, Austria, Estonia, Kazakhstan, and Kyrgyzstan.
According to BelCCI, the contest "Best Exporter of the Year" is being held in Belarus for the 13th time. Its organizers emphasize that participation in such events is designed to stimulate export-oriented production, to enhance the prestige of producers, to improve the quality and competitiveness of products sold.
